call Diamond transparent this informational videos intended to provide an overview of the California assessment of student performance and progress or task for sure in this video we will discuss what the cast is why the cast is important in what year do to better prepare for the exam what is the caaspp California assessment of student performance and progress or task is a Statewide test given to all Juniors to assess students Knowledge and Skills in English language arts literacy and math the cast is on to promote high-quality teaching and learning by giving information to teachers students and their families about what students know and can do the cast consists of two main parts the first part is a computer adaptive test that adjust the difficulty of the multiple-choice questions based on answers that students give this helps keep special for many students and make sure the score of the very accurate the second part is a conformist or students were asked to answer a setup is that are censored on a call and see more problem students will be assessed on the problem solving skills and their ability to analyze data and the fender claim why is the cat important in addition to class exams projects and other assessment tools test or another measure of student learning that is consistent from school school while this exam is not the sole indicator of student learning it is a major indicator for us as a school to assess our performance especially compared to neighboring schools in a district county and throughout California results provide powerful information for us on how better to improve our practice as a school in addition to an indicator of our performance we are able to the school and use data from this exam to assess our areas of need indicates where students are at in terms of College and Career Readiness students who receive a score of three or four indicate their Readiness for College and Career Success golden CSU system by Cal Poly Pomona and CSU Fullerton or looking at the cast to determine if the student needs remedial courses before being officially enrolled in college for example if a student scores standard seated or level four on the ELR math portion of the gas student is exempt from the English placement test for GPT or entry-level math test respect both assessment to determine if a student needs to be enrolled in the sea miss you early start program which consists of course is that the basic skills so students can be successful in college-level courses if a student scores standard or level 3 on the ELA or math portion then they must complete a senior year long English or Math course at Dr to qualify for the exemption finally if students core standard nearly met or not a score of 2 or 1 then students must take the EPT steal them to assess if they need to enroll in the CSU early start program inshort encourages students to score three or four on the caaspp what can my student do to prepare as simple as that may sound studying hard and Performing well in all your classes is a good indicator for test performance all classes to varying degrees have components that develop skills that will be assessed in major sounds like a cat or sat Jordana Ranch we have a number of web-based intervention programs in place that focus on building on students individual academic strengths and develop skills that students are deficient in for example students have access and many classes Utah why is Khan Academy Khan Academy utilizes data from PSAT and SAT scores and a science activities and tutorial videos based on student academic needs Achieve3000 and imagine math are in adventure reading and math programs respectively assess students current reading and math skill level and Taylor reading and math activities based on those levels final students can go on a cast website to ask practice test and become familiar with a test interface to do this caaspp. Org student interface practice and training test click sign in and select either practice or training test for more information go to the California Department of Education website at cde.ca.gov an accountability CA assessment of student performance and progress then go to resources for communicating with parents thank you
