University Admissions A-G Requirements
 

To be considered for admission to a University of California campus, students must complete 15 year-long high school courses with a grade of C or better with at least 11 of them prior to their senior year.

Satisfying the "A-G" requirements can be satisfied in other ways such as, taking a college course, earning certain scores on the SAT or ACT, and Advanced Placement exams.

The California State University also has the "A-G" courses as a requirement for admission into their system. They have a wealth of information and and tools available beginning with grade six. 

 

 

A = History (2 years required)

 

B = English ( 4 Years required)

 

C = Math (3 years required, 4 years recommended)

 

D = Laboratory Science (2 years required, 4 years recommended)

       (Two of the following: Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)

 

E = Language other Than English (2 years required, 3 years recommended)

       (At least 2 years of the same language)

 

F = Visual and Performing Arts (1 year required)

 

G = College Preparatory Elective (1 year of an academic course in any of the above areas)

 

All courses require a grade of C or higher
